The next-generation Jeep Wrangler, due out this fall, will be new from the wheels up. But images posted on a Jeep fan forum show designers didn't veer far from the Wrangler's unique design cues.
The 2018 JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon in the photo has the same seven-slot grille and pair of round headlights. But the grille has a more pronounced kink tilting the upper half backward to improve aerodynamics, which helps boost fuel economy.
Elsewhere, the windshield shows more of a rake and two hinges on the bottom, which means, as on all Wranglers, it can be folded forward. The front bumper is less bulky and more sculpted and there are accent lines running from the front doors to the back of the vehicle at door handle height.
